*they both stop at the stairs*

AJ: Jona! -no response- Jone Gold! -still nothing. AJ sighs- Jona, come on down here!

Jona: Why?

AJ: Cuz I told ya too!

*Rara looks at AJ, surprised by the stern tone*

AJ: -under her breath- Consarn it...Your Aunty Rara is here to see you too.

Jona: Really?!

*footsteps are heard hurrying towards the stairs. Jona appears and rushes down to hug Rara around her leg*

Jona: AUNTY RARA!

Rara: -laughs- Hello, Jona! You've gotten bigger since the last time I saw you. How are you?

Jona: Ah'm good! Wh-what're ya doing here though? Ah thought you weren't gonna come n visit till May!

AJ: Rara was able to catch a little break on her tour, so she decided to pay us an early visit. Ain't that nice of her?

Jona: Yeah!

Rara: -clears throat- Actually, Jona, your mother also asked me for a bit of a favour. She wanted me to keep an eye on you while she went out with a friend for the evening.

Jona: A friend? Like Ms. Rainbow Dash?

Rara: Actually, it's Sherif Tumbleweed she's meeting.

Jona: O-oh...

*Rara notices how Jona's mood seems to dip*

AJ: Ah won't be home till after you get to bed, so Aunty Rara will cook some dinner for ya. Ah want ya to be on yer best behaviour for her, sugar cube, understood?

Jona: Yes, Ma...

AJ: -smiles- Good. -turns to Rara- Thanks again.

Rara: It's my pleasure.

AJ: -turns back to Jona- Ah'll see ya in the morning, Jona. Love ya.

Jona: ...

AJ: ...Jona?

Jone: O-oh, uh! S-sorry Ma. Ah love you too.

AJ: All right... see y'all later.

*AJ walks through the door, leaving Rara and Jona alone together. Rara looks at Jona, noticing her cutie mark*

Rara: Oh, Jona! You didn't tell me you got your cutie mark! When did that happen?

*they begin trotting over to the kitchen*

Jona: 'bout a month ago. Ma and Uncle Mac were sellin some apples, and Uncle Mac asked me if I wanted to try it, so I did, and I would up selling twenty to a customer!

Rara: Wow! So I guess you're a regular salespony, huh? I bet the cute-ceañera was a blast.

Jona: -frowns- Actually...we didn't have one...

Rara: Wh-what? You didn't have one? Why in Equestria not?

Jona: Ma said we couldn't afford it. Something about Pa not being able to help...

*Things between them go quiet. Jona stops and looks back at Rara*

Jona: Aunty Rara, how come Ma and Pa aren't together like everyone else's parents?

Rara: W-well...your mother and father...they um...they had some problems being together. It wouldn't be a good thing if they had.

Jona: Problems like what?

Rara: Like...-sighs- You're a little too young to understand right now, Jona. But you will when you're a bit older.

Jona: ...that's what Ma said...

Rara: Have...you and your mother been fighting, Jona?

Jona: N-no. She just doesn't like to talk about it, is all.

Rara: I see...well. I'll tell you what. How about instead of staying cooped up in the house all night, we go out and have a fun night in Ponyville. How does that sound?

*Jona smiles, her spirits raised*

Jona: Yeah! That sounds awesome!

Rara: Great. How about you go comb your mane and we can get going?

Jona: Okay, Aunty Rara! -hurries back upstairs-

*Rara waits for Jona to disappear upstairs before pulling out a quill and parchment*

Rara: (Dear AJ, Jona and I went out for the night. In case you make it back before we do, you and I need to have a talk. It's serious. Love, Rara)

*Rara places the letter in an envelope and puts in on the table. Jona comes back down the stairs*

Jona: Ready!

Rara: All right! Let's go out and have some fun!

*Jona and Rara walk through the front door*

Here's some Jona at an early age with "Aunty Rara". Coloratura's Jona godmother, so they're very close. In fact their overall relationship is much better than Jona's relationship with her mother (which is kinda ironic)
